This research explores reciprocal frames from an architectural perspective, highlighting them as a tool for the design process, taking advantage of their morphological, constructive, structural and spatial potential. Within these structures and focusing on a subgroup of horizontal flat systems, different proposals are examined throughout history, comparing their structural behavior and constructive efficiency. Once the analysis of how these systems works, a reciprocal structural and constructive method is proposed to consolidate walkable mezzanines by means of wooden braces and industrialized metal joints.

Esta investigación explora las estructuras recíprocas desde una perspectiva arquitectónica, destacándolas como una herramienta para el proceso proyectual, aprovechando su potencial morfológico, constructivo, estructural y espacial. Dentro de estas estructuras y haciendo foco en el subgrupo de sistemas planos horizontales, se estudian las propuestas a lo largo de la historia, comparando su comportamiento estructural y su eficiencia constructiva. Una vez analizado estos sistemas, se propone un método estructural y constructivo recíproco para consolidar entrepisos transitables por medio de tirantes de madera y uniones industrializadas metálicas.
