Net.Art is a practice of symbolic production that utilizes the Internet as a space for artistic experimentation and communicative action. It draws from Internet-based cultures (Bosma, 2011) and is grounded in practices of appropriation, the subversion of pre-existing content and discourses that acquire meaning in the virtual space (Brea, 2008). \nThe present research aims to explore net.artistic production, its discourses regarding the utilization of cyberspace for the development of artivist practices through which net.artists express their identity and address social issues such as racism and structural violence. Based on this, the net.artistic productions of the Mongrel collective, Keith & Mendi Obadike, and Tabita Rezaire will be studied in order to investigate the functioning of the artistic discourses they develop on the Internet as a medium used for artivism, as a space for advocacy, and as a place for the construction of Afro identities and representations on the Internet.

El Net.Art es una práctica de producción simbólica que utiliza el Internet como espacio de experimentación artística y acción comunicativa. Se nutre de las culturas basadas en Internet (Bosma,2011) y se fundamenta en prácticas de apropiación, la subversión de contenidos y discursos preexistentes que cobran sentido en el espacio virtual (Brea, 2008).\nLa presente investigación pretende indagar en la producción net.artística, sus discursos en relación a la utilización del ciberespacio para el desarrollo de prácticas artivistas a través de las cuales los net.artistas expresan su identidad y abordan problemáticas sociales como el racismo y la violencia estructural. A partir de esto, se estudiarán las producciones net.artísticas de los/las artistas del colectivo Mongrel, Keith & Mendi Obadike y Tabita Rezaire, con el fin de indagar sobre el funcionamiento de los discursos artísticos que desarrollan en Internet como medio utilizado para el artivismo, como espacio de reivindicación y lugar para la construcción de la identidad y las representaciones afro en Internet.
